Terms of Service
A Note Before You Read
We have written these Terms in plain language because we think you deserve to understand what you are agreeing to. The legal obligations are real, but the language does not have to be impenetrable.

01 Who we are and what these terms cover
FE-1 Made Simple is an educational platform operated by FE-1 Made Simple Limited (Company No. 815400), a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland ("we", "us", "our").
The Podcast on Spotify is subject to Spotify's own Terms of Service, not these Terms. When you listen to our podcast on Spotify, you are using Spotify's platform under their rules.
By creating an account or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
02 Your Account
Creating an Account
Must be 18+ (or parent consent). Requires accurate real name and email address. No accounts for others without permission.
Security
You are responsible for your password. No sharing login details. Each account is for one person only.
Individual Use
Subscriptions are for individual use. Contact us for institutional or group pricing.
Breach Notification
If you suspect unauthorized access, contact legal@fe1madesimple.ie immediately.
03 Using the Platform
What you can do
- Access content covered by your subscription tier
- Practice past questions and submit essays for AI feedback
- Access Study Notes you have purchased
- Participate in the community (on paid tiers)
- Bookmark content and track your study progress
What you cannot do
- Share your account, each subscription is for one person
- Copy or redistribute our content/intellectual property
- Scrape or extract content using automated tools
- Misuse the AI feedback system for non-exam purposes
- Disrupt the platform or other users (spam/abusive behaviour)
04 Subscriptions and Payments
Free Trial
7-day free trial. No credit card required. The trial includes the first module of every subject and three free AI marks. We will give notice in advance of any change to trial terms.
Auto-Renewal
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly). Email reminders are sent before annual renewals.
Plan Changes
You can change plan by emailing support@fe1madesimple.ie. Upgrades take effect on request; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. Self-service plan changes will roll out shortly after launch.
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime by emailing support@fe1madesimple.ie or, once available, from your account settings. Cancellation stops the next charge; you keep access through to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refund Policy
Subscriptions (Study Platform)
Subscriptions are non-refundable. The 7-day free trial sits before any payment is taken, so you can experience the full platform before subscribing. After you subscribe you can cancel anytime to stop the next charge, but past payments are not refunded.
By subscribing and beginning to use paid features immediately, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 / EU Consumer Rights Directive for digital content supplied immediately.
Technical faults that materially prevent you from using the service will be resolved by service credit or, where that is not possible, a refund proportionate to the affected period.
Study Notes (one-time PDF purchases)
Notes purchased from notes.fe1madesimple.ie carry a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase, no questions asked. Email support@fe1madesimple.ie with your order number.
05 Intellectual Property
Everything on the platform, lessons, case summaries, AI feedback systems, study notes, the website itself, is our intellectual property. All rights reserved.
You are not buying the right to:
- Republish our lessons or notes elsewhere
- Resell our Study Notes (even to other students)
- Build a competing product using our content
- Mass-screenshotting to replace platform usage
You are absolutely allowed to:
- Make personal notes from the content
- Quote short passages for your own study
- Discuss content with fellow candidates
- Cite public domain Irish case law
AI Feedback, Important Notes
Not Legal Advice
A study tool for exam technique only. Do not use for real legal decisions or client work.
Not Perfect
Benchmarks against examiner reports but can make mistakes. Use your own judgment.
Third-Party Processing
Essays processed via Anthropic API (Claude). See Privacy Policy for data details.
Not a Grade Prediction
Educational estimates help identify gaps; they are not your actual result prediction.
07 Notes Shop Purchases
Study Notes purchased from notes.fe1madesimple.ie are one-time digital purchases, separate from a Study Platform subscription. After payment we email a download link to the address you provided at checkout.
Each purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal study use only. The content remains our intellectual property under Section 5; the rules in that section also apply to the notes you buy here.
Notes carry a 14-day no-questions-asked refund window from the date of purchase. To request a refund, email support@fe1madesimple.ie with your order number.
08 Communications & Support
We send you transactional email about your account, your trial, your subscription, your purchases, and your study progress (e.g., streak nudges, study reminders). These are part of the service and cannot be opted out of without disabling the corresponding feature in your settings.
Marketing email is opt-in only and you can unsubscribe at any time from the link at the bottom of any marketing message.
Support enquiries sent to support@fe1madesimple.ie are answered within two business days; tickets that block you from sitting a mock or finishing a mark are answered the same day where possible.
09 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we ship new features, change pricing, or have to align with new law. The "Effective date" stamp at the top of this page tracks the latest change.
For material changes (those that meaningfully affect your rights, your subscription, or your fees), we will email you and post a banner in the app at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. Continuing to use the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept, you can cancel and stop using the service before the effective date.
10 Account Suspension
We can suspend or close your account for breaches of these Terms, abusive behaviour, fraudulent use, or non-payment. We will notify you of the reason unless legally prohibited from doing so. Where suspension follows non-payment, you can restore access by settling the outstanding amount.
11 Our Liability
We are not liable for changes in the law after content is published, your exam result, or issues caused by third-party services (Stripe, Anthropic, Brevo, Spotify, Google Cloud, Cloudflare). Where we are liable to you, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Irish or EU consumer law.
12 Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, except that consumers resident in another EU Member State may also bring proceedings in the courts of that Member State where mandatory consumer protection law allows. We will always try to resolve issues with you directly first. Email legal@fe1madesimple.ie before escalating.
